The savings is even less if we replace him with a veteran.  The point is that there's no significant cap savings by cutting Hyde.

As for Linder, I wouldn't go as far to call it "foolish", but I would keep him.  We already have a bunch of holes to fill on the team, let's not create more.  We don't know how the draft will fall and I don't like reaching for a need.  Rookies also sometimes take time to develop.  If there's good value at center in the draft in the mid or late rounds, we can still take him.  He can be a backup for a year and if he looks good, he can take over next year as our center for the future.

We re-signed Shatley, so we really don't need Linder. Half the time we're rolling with Shatley anyway, because Linder is always hurt. Draft a Center and if he isn't ready, sit him behind Shatley until he is. This is a very, very talented Center class. I think we can find a very good one in that 3-5 round draft range.

Agree completely. roll with Shatley and bring in a prospect. League year doesn't begin till Monday, so I imagine we'll see a few cuts that day, including Linder and Hyde.

We can definitely find better veteran depth out there at RB, that was Urbz's pet hire and there will be a sense of finality when he's finally gone.

I agree, they don't need to cut him right now. They have plenty of cap room to sign free agents and Chark if they want to. If they cut him at all it should be in August because they've found someone better, or as good and cheaper.
