This is spot on.  There is more than enough oil in Alaska, Texas, Oklahoma, etc. to not only make America 100% energy indpendent, but also be a huge exporter of petroleum products to the rest of the world.  Why are we seeking relief from OPEC, Iran, and Venezuela?  

It's the same way with precious metals.  We could easily produce all of the iron, steel, and even lithium that we need as well.  There's no reason for us to be sending money to China for lithium.  

We need to diversify and use wind, solar, nuclear, coal, natural gas - the all of the above solution.

The US is currently the #1 producer of oil.
But consumers of oil who live here have to compete with consumers of oil living all over the world for who actually gets to use it.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
