Khan was watching old highlights and interviews from Jerry Jones, Jimmy Johnson and Troy Aikman and that's what happened. He was desperate to get a solution in here. Meyer went off the rails and off the rails fast. He didn't know what he was doing. You could see it on his face during the games, you could hear it in his voice during the post game and pre game conversations.

He was in over his head. Just like Nick Saban was. The NFL is a vastly different animal than the college world. Like Meyer said himself. "It's like every week you're facing Alabama". Yeah, what else was it supposed to be like dip [BLEEP]? Nothing is easy in the NFL.

At this point. I don't care anymore. Baalke is doing what he has to do to salvage his career, his image and his reputation. If he fails in Jacksonville with two years of this much cap and draft value he's destined to be holding somebody's scouting report and coffee at a lower position.

Can't fault the man for trying to do what he's doing at the moment. He just has to maintain this aggressiveness in the draft next week. I don't want to see any headscratchers with those picks at 1, 33, 65 & 70. He can [BLEEP] up anything else after RD3. I can live with him taking some chances on players after RD3. He has to absolutely land four starters with those selections. Hutchinson should be easy. I think he's going to be able to address WR, TE or G there at 33. I think at 65 and 70 he can address LB and WR or TE depending on what happened at 33.

It will be nice if we ever get to a position where we don't have to rely on draft picks to be impact players as rookies.  It should be a nice surprise when a rook does more than show flashes of what's to come rather than expecting them to be full time quality starters right off the bat.
Good teams don't even expect their first round picks have to hold down the fort most of the time.  But of course, most good teams aren't perpetually picking in the top 5.
