So don't go ape when the Jags trade down for not very much in return.  Because the #1 pick is not that great this year compared to past years.

If I was the Jags, if Detroit offered the #2 and the #66, I would take it.  Going from #1 to #2 is just not that big a deal this year.

Yes, and no. Depends on who Detroit is interested in moving up for. Also, it may cause a trading call frenzy if it's for a QB. If Baalke is worth his salt he can always [BLEEP] his way through this scenario.

If Detroit offers #2 and #66 you can lie and say Atlanta & Seattle are on the other line and they're potentially looking to offer their first round selection in a swap with 2nd RD value added.

I won't go ape [BLEEP] either way. I just think it's possible that this can quickly escalate into a lot more value overall. It's been one hell of an off season this year with trades across the board. I cannot recall ever seeing any other year quite like this one so far.

It feels damn near like an NBA like trading off season for the NFL. Pretty interesting.

Bingo!

You can't just generalize and say the pick isn't worth much.  Depends on who, what, and how much the other team is interested and what they see as a 'risk'.
