Whether we get an offer much better than that is doubtful.

I really believe the Lions would part with pick 32 or 34. It might seem like too much since many believe Hutchinson is no better than Thibodeaux or Walker. PFF is doing a podcast on Hutchinson to air in early April which should only increase the hype. Austin Gayle, who interviewed several coaches and players who faced Hutchinson was on 1010 yesterday. He made it sound like Hutchinson will be a combination of Deacon Jones, J.J. Watt and Lawrence Taylor as a pass rusher with the leadership and character of Tim Tebow. While his talent/skill-set is likely to be extremely embellished in this piece, it should give the Lions enough of a nudge to offer either pick 32 or 34.

I would not personally take the deal for picks 2 and 66. I'd just go with Hutchinson and Allen as my pass rushers which would make this team immediately much better.

I personally wouldn't even consider Thibodeaux or Walker with the #2 pick. Thibodeaux has the ability, but the more I hear him talk the less I like him. He just comes off arrogant and self absorbed and the last time we drafted a guy like (Jalen Ramsey,) it didn't turn out well. Walker was playing DE in a 3-4 scheme in college. He would be playing 3-4 OLB here, if we drafted him and that is like a whole new position. I just don't know if it would work. He would either be great or he would be terrible. It's just too much of a risk. If we're picking this early, I want a "safe" pick. We cannot afford to whiff on another first rounder.

If we slide down one spot and miss out on Hutchinson, I would almost need assurances that we could trade down again, so we could get value for the pick we have. I only see 2 truly elite "safe" picks in the draft and they are Hutchinson and Gardner. I think at worst with Hutchinson, you get a Ryan Kerrigan type player and at best you get a Jared Allen type. I don't see that kind of floor with any other edge rusher in this draft. I LOVE Gardner, but CB is not really a need for us. If I was stuck at #2, I'd be forced to select him, but I'd rather draft a position of need with the BAP on my board.
