My point is that we low-balled him.  There's no way he turns down another $2mil from the Jags if it had been offered.  Seems much more like we didn't want him, and it makes me a bit sad.

I agree on the outside looking in we maybe low balled him. Realistically, I am thinking it was more of his agent working to get the player the most he could. What if the Jags waited a bit and seeing other teams below 7 million offered that to keep him. The other teams countered getting him to 10 million. When the bidding got to 10 million the Jags bowed out.  Actually that could very well be the case.

I haven't heard or read anything about what we did or don't offer Chark and I personally doubt we lowballed him looking at the other FA contracts from this offseason coupled with three different comments from Pederson about trying to sign him.
