Not someone you want to hang a season's hopes on, but good enough to step in and give you some decent reps if your starter turns an ankle or something inevitable like that.
This assumes the brass is happy with Little's progress to date.

We may have liked what Little has to offer, but perhaps Pederson isn't so sure.

Maybe Pederson believes in stacking the OL with talent.  You know how people say you can never have enough pass rushers?  Maybe he thinks you can never have enough quality tackles.

I wish I could remember who it was I have been debating over the years (my apologies to him) but he would constantly contend the game has evolved over the years to the point where there isn't much different between the LT and RT positions.  I would debate him up and down on that point, but if the Jaguars take Ekwonu or Neal tomorrow, it would appear on some level that that poster was onto something.
One thing to remember is Brunell was left handed so Searcy protected the blind side. Also I agree RT or LT, the way defenses move people around they are equally important today. (thus their value to the team is equal)

I wouldn't object to Neal or Ekwonu being taken #1 overall.  Such a selection would give us the best combination of talent and depth we've ever had on the OL.  Our TC teams had Boselli and Searcy at Ts, and a versatile ben Coleman at LG, but C (Dave Widell) and RG (Rich Tyski) were just guys.  TC's MO was to have real good tackles and a decent to good center with guys for guards. This prevailed even during his time in NY.

The JDR OLs had a good interior three (from LG-RG Manuwai, Meester, Naoele), a decent RT in Mo WIlliams and later Pashos, but no LT (Khaif Barnes for a year and a half) and no depth.

The 2017 OL performed well, but was okay individuals (rookie Cam Robinson, Omameh, Meester, Uche and Parnell), but as we saw in 2018, there was zero depth to that group/

If this team added Neal or Ekwonu, it would immediately upgrade no fewer than three positions along the OL (LG, RG, RT), but we'd have more depth and versatility than any group we've had.  It would also set us up for the next few years allowing resources to other areas.  It certainly would be the most flexible group we ever had.   If they had not come to agreement with CAM before the draft I believe they would have gone OT. (or at least that is what they told Cam and his agent) If they had no agreement Cam would have had all the leverage in negotiations.

Who know where they are going tomorrow now...

A new broom always sweeps clean.
