If Walker is the pick, this is Baalkes attempt to save his image. If Walker hits, and he is a home run… Baalke will get another job somewhere based off of it. Hutch would just be “well everyone would have took him #1”, and not have the same appeal. If Walker busts, regardless Baalke isn’t getting a job anywhere. I think this has everything to do with Baalke trying to show he is smarter than every other GM and an image changer.
Everything has the feel for that right now. Just a desperation move by Baalke. |
