Yea DiRocco was tweeting last night about Walker not being all american or all conference. Didnt make the SEC first or second team. so at best 9th best defensive lineman in conference last year.

I'd give the first round a B. But I do think you have to take into account how the draft board lined up. Was a terrible year to be picking first overall. There wasnt a guy who deserves that status. To think a guy like Walker, who had less than 10 sacks in his career and in his best year couldnt even crack 2nd team all conference, isn't considered a major reach just shows you how bad the top of this draft was. And then as far as our second pick, it didn't appear as though any of the guys we wanted to fall were going to do so, which meant we had to trade up and get a guy that presumably was one of the last prospects left with a first round grade. Draft board just didn't fall to our favor so we had to make moves we may not have wanted to otherwise. I do think these two guys are good players who will make the defense better. Is Walker going to be a big time disruptive pass rusher? No one knows because no one has ever seen him do it. But hopefully he lives up to that billing. If he just ends up being a solid run defender that controls his gap, it'll be a wasted pick. And then Lloyd appears to be a good player that fell later than expected and we didnt have to give away too much to move up and grab him. Don't think that position is as valuable as it used to be but definitely fills a need.

Would like to see us address some of the offensive concerns with our two third round picks.
