Baalke was railroaded by Khan (apparently) with the Mayer hire. But he went along with it and that's a strike against him.
He should have been the voice of reason and he wasn't. At least, not enough. I won't judge too harshly as we don't know how it went down exactly.

Baalke was complicit in the 2021 free agency and overall roster rebuild phase and it was not good. The draft looks like it may turn out to be decent - but FA was mostly terrible and there were loads of bad personnel decisions in general. 
He did a very poor job of acclimating a new coach to the roster and the NFL in general. 

All that said - it looks like last year's draft and this offseason's acquisition haul are going to be pretty good in the end. 
If it indeed works out that way, my hat is off to the guy.

I'm keeping an open mind on it. Not assuming he'll fail. But it's still up in the air.
