Conner was first and foremost added as insurance since Robinson may not be ready in September.
If Robinson gets on the field and averages 5 yards a carry again, they'll have decisions to make. 
I don't think it would take a top ten RB contract to keep him. He's not a home run hitter and his speed is suspect. He's just very adept at getting an extra yard or two from most of his carries and he's got good vision and timing through the hole. 
They could probably keep him around for 5 or 6 mil per year IMO. Chump change by today's standards.

I agree that the initial thought process of drafting him was as an insurance policy due to both guys we have coming off injury, but I do think if Snoop impresses enough JR might leave in a year or two depending on how he goes about his next contract. I could see a contender paying him top 5 RB money if he remains as good as he has been and dosen't continue to get injured.


I love James Robinson tho, I hope he stays around.

I can't see anyone paying 12 mil per year for a back that runs a 4.6. 

I'd think more along the lines of the deal Chase Edmonds just got from the phins.

4-6 mil per year depending on incentives.
If he returns from injury and looks runs upwards of 4.2 YPC again, I'd probably look to sign him to a 3 year deal with an out after 2 years.
16 mil total if he hits incentives, around 11 or 12 mil guaranteed.
