Suppose you get a new roof, but the contractor isn't being careful. He failed to properly secure 1 or 2 shingles and those come off. You get a small leak in your new roof.
You tell your friends about the missing shingle and the leak.
One of the friends replies, "This is what I've been telling you! Roofs don't work! You got wet anyways! I told you all along!"
