I drive an '05 volvo S40 turbo  -AWD    Bought it  for $13K 2years ago with low, low miles.  I absolutely love it - but it is pricey to repair when necessary.  A 2013 focus would still have some warranty left and cheaper parts when warranty is up if you are thinking more practically. 
 

Yeah, the new ones are definitely improved from the 2012 and before models.
