Jaguars and the need for therapy

(09-13-2022, 12:38 PM)Flagler Jagsfan Wrote: Anyone ever felt like this article? I would have to say that anyone who has been a Jaguars fan for any period of time, has felt the repeated gut punches. Funny, yet sad, that this is a real issue. Nope. The only fans that I legitimately feel sorry for are the ones who actually shell out money for season tickets and take a financial loss yearly for the poor showing and bad products that have been produced during Khan's ownership. If you're a regular fan? An armchair General Manager (which is mostly the group on here), I cannot fathom why anybody would be so emotionally invested into this franchise and distraught. That's why I have a hard time saying "We" when I talk about this football team. Is it really "We"? I am not getting paid millions to suit up on Gameday's, I am not taking the snaps, taking the flights to games, taking the beatings, shots to the helmet and busting my body up throughout the week to help this team win football games. I just watch them and try to catch a game or two when tickets are there and the game actually looks good or promising on paper. But, to be "depressed", come on now, be better than that. I can understand a child or a teenager getting emotionally distraught over it. I was guilty of this growing up. Beat up a tacks fan wearing a Wycheck jersey in Middle School right after they lost to the tacks for a third time in one year. Almost got kicked out of a Bengals game on MNF or TNF as a teenager for getting into it with some Bengals fans and egging on that "who dat, who dey" chant. Cried as a kid one time when Shannon Sharpe caught a crazy last minute, double tip toe TD against us when he was a Raven, etc. But as a grown [BLEEP] man? Listen, outside of that 2017 season? That Championship game? That's the only time I was flying off the [BLEEP] handle. Because they were close. I think that's really the only acceptable time to lose your [BLEEP]. When you know the game is rigged or the refs are on their knees blowing the game. Season opener though? There's 16 more games of abuse to go. Be a glutton for punishment like the rest of us. If you've been a fan this long? You're built for it. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing; Rush in and die, dogs - I was a man before I was a king." |
