We didn't because they thought they already had a "backup" plan.

 

That plan failed, and that's where we are today.

 

Now, this I agree with.  This team went way too long without using a pick in the first three rounds at QB.  Which is why it's so important now that we hit on a Quarterback (or two...) It's a lot easier once you get a Quarterback to find their replacement, because you have plenty of time to look -- but you actually have to look.
