I think there's no reason to believe he can't improve. Again, he's just now coming off his 22nd career NFL regular season start. Are the expectations high? Certainly. 

I know some people on here are looking at 2022 as his true rookie year. I am not doing that. The speed of the NFL is something that you have to experience and adjust to but he was showing signs of handling this in the few wins that they had managed to pull off last year. 

He's also shown some tenacity and abilities to lead this team into a victory late. Miami game in London being the main one to look at. Where he struggles at the moment is two crucial parts of being an NFL caliber QB. He's struggling in the redzone and he's struggling with his deep ball accuracy. 

Those may very well be the last two things he develops and fine tunes as the year progresses and we may not see the fruits of that labor until the month of December unfortunately. These things happen. 

Next year is make or break for me personally with him as a fan though. Year one? Fine. Year two? Okay. Year three? Nope. No more [BLEEP] excuses. I also don't think there's anything wrong with Baalke and Pederson collaborating on a potential replacement next off season. 

Whether that's taking a chance on a developmental player later on during day three of the draft or signing a veteran doesn't really matter to me. Just as long as they're up for the challenge.

Cooper Rush, Gardner Minshew, Taylor Heinicke, Case Keenum & Jacoby Brissett are all UFA's in 2023's market. 

Will Levis, Hendon Hooker, Anthony Richardson, Cameron Ward & Phil Jurkovec are also decent QB targets from next year's class potentially to be looking at as players you can develop along slowly in 2023 / 2024.

He literally already did that. Week 2 and Week 3 and yet here we are.

If Trevor fails, Baalke and Pederson won't be here so there's no reason for them to look for replacements. They live and die by Trevor.

I am aware that he did that, hence, "He needs to string together ANOTHER two or three weeks of good performances". He needs to do MORE of that and less of what he's done in weeks four and five. Pretty sure we're in agreement on that one. 

Also, I am not so sure Baalke and Pederson are shown the door if Lawrence is failing to get it done by the end of next year. No disrespect to Lawrence but Pederson has a proven track record and he's shown he's capable of fixing QB's. 

Again, it's not like Pederson is telling Lawrence to throw interceptions in the redzone and endzone and put the football on the ground four times in one game. When your number is called? Do your damn job. That's the reality of being a professional. Nobody cares about last year. It's what you're doing NOW. 

And right now? He's not passing the eye test over the last two weeks. It's as simple as that. Also, given Khan's track record? He was patient with Bradley/Caldwell, he was patient with Marrone/Caldwell, that was with Bortles in the middle of it all. Hell, had the news not made it to the public there's a good chance Coughlin still has a job here. 

I don't think they "live or die" by Trevor. I think Trevor is on his own if he doesn't start showing more consistently good things out there on the football field Vs. the bad things he's been doing over the last two weeks. With all that said. Wouldn't shock me at all if Pederson, Baalke and Lawrence, for better or worse, are ALL still here in 2024.
