These teams have been right around us in talent level and yet are looking far better.  Daniel Jones was supposed to be a weight around their neck.  Wilson has looked terrible.  Mariota is a failed QB having a resurgence in ATL.  And yet here they all are in the mix while we fall behind.

The Jags had one of the top 5 easiest remaining schedules two weeks ago.  We started that out by going 0-2.  The Colts had scored 6 TDs in FIVE WEEKS and they scored FOUR today.

This team looks flat and unmotivated.  They're losers who have been conditioned to lose.

The Giants are the only real “surprise” team in this group since they do have a 1st year coach - but even then, they aren’t starting very many rookies/2nd year players.

The Falcons and Jets have had coaches in place for a full season. They’ve had time to adjust to their mistakes. The Jags’ foundation is being laid, but it hasn’t solidified yet.

You also mentioned these teams having the same talent level - no. Wrong.

Saquon Barkley is a top 3 RB in terms of talent. This dude can and does take over a game. When this dude is healthy, the Giants are a problem for the majority of teams in the league. They also have some pretty good receivers. I’m still not sold on Daniel Jones, but so far, he’s avoided costing them games so far (how long that’ll last is anyone’s guess). 

However, they do struggle without Barkley, which is why the Jets and the Falcons are, long term, better overall teams. Their teams had rough 1st years under their new coaches. They are making some progress this year, but they still aren’t expected to make the playoffs - even though they could surprise us if they don’t suffer too many injuries.

Long story short: Give Doug Peterson a chance to renovate this team (talent, staff and culture wise) and stop moving the expectation needle in the middle of an ongoing season.
