If they aren't impressed enough to sign him, they've gained nothing.  So, I have a tough time seeing a bargain.  What was good for them was the timing.  They add a player at a position that they were worse off than expected, trying to salvage a run at the playoffs.

 

The value is relative. He may not have been worth $10 million for us, but to them he might be and you can be assured they've taken it into consideration before the trade.

 

It's like a man who just ate a steak dinner being offered a hot dog by a street vendor. The hot dog might not be worth 50 cents to the man but the same hot dog might be worth $10 to a starving man. It's relative.
