I actually started a thread before that draft asking people what they would take for Lawrence. Almost to a man the posters responded that there was nothing they would take and most acted like it was a stupid thread to even start because the answer wasn't worth debating.

Because it is. You cannot expect to be able to draft a sure thing QB at No 1 ever. And if you build a 0.500 or competitive team around has-been free agents at QB, then you still end up having to trading up and guessing on prospects in the top 10, most of whom will fail. 

GMs/Teams have to shoot your shot at least some times, even if they know it may or will likely fail. You cannot just keep putting it off.
