Admittedly, I know very little about the Jags but that will change now that one of my favorite players has signed. I suspect fans on here don't know much about Toby gerhart other than what you may have seen or heard up in Vikings land. Trust me when I say there is alot more to him than meets the eye. I have been following his career since he was a sophomore in high school at Norco. i lived in that area at the time and I can tell you even then...you could tell he was gonna be special. When he went to Stanford........they were a train wreck. They had a terrible offense so he saw little action. As a sophomore, he got hurt his second game "after" gaining 149 yards and was finished for the season. His junior year was a 'glimpse" of things to come and Stanford was rebuilding in all the right places. In his senior "summer press media blitz for the PAC12" very few coaches raved about this kid. EVERYONE was talking about Javid Best and this is where the Pete Carroll / Jim Harbaugh fued got started. Harbaugh BOLDLY predicted great things out of his team for the upcoming season and I boldly predicted that come December, Toby Gerhart would be in NYC at the Heisman awards. I JUST knew it and sent an email to his dad (whose a HS coach at Norco telling him so). Sure enough, we all know how that all ended. he should have won the Heisman because he won the Doalk Walker award as the best RB and ironically a RB one the heisman (go figure). On to the pros.......playing behind the best RB in the league did not do TG's career much good other than keep him fairly fresh. When he did play, he was good........not off the charts good, but good anyways. Why am I saying all this? For those who don't know this kid, it's his intangibles that make him special. yeah..he's got talent, but it's his will that seperates him from others. You mark my word, (if) he stays healthy and the Jags build up the OL (which it seems they want to) this kid will make a BIG impact not only on this team but will surprise alot of the NFL folks too. Like I said, (if he can stay healthy) and they get their OL up and running, Jaguar fans will be most pleasantly surprised. Yes........He's that GOOD! You just haven't seen much of it because of the beast known as AP.
