I get you but one has Brady at QB and was a SB contender and the other are current SB holders. Both teams would be considered way ahead of us. Yes they aren't in our conference but just comparing across the league.

Both of those teams are dealing with transition of the salary cap and the inverse draft order.  We has the most cap space in the league and we're allocated the most draft capital.

....and you could say a big part of our failure has been how we spent that cap, at least on the offensive side of the ball.

For everyone who screamed at the void over Kirk's signing, they might have been onto something. He's been a non-factor almost all season. We grabbed him and Zay to the tune of megabucks, relatively speaking compared to others signed at that rate, and our most reliable target has been Engram.

Missing in the darft hurts. Missing in high-dollar FA might be even more destructive.
