Most fans are inpatient and irrational. Look at teams that sell well, win or lose. How often do they make rash decisions that set the franchise back a half decade?

I never said it isn't about wins. It's about wins and losses destroying your mental well-being.

Look at my point - how many STH has this team lost over the decade of losing? Did those STH run to midfield and take a dump on the logo to express their discontent? I mean, that would get the point across that they weren't happy, right? Maybe they should have renewed, and just spent all season dressing for circus cosplay to insult the owner. Then he'd know they care about Ws and Ls, right?

Wins absolutely are important to a fanbase. But they shouldn't be the only thing that makes you a fan. If them losing turns you into a worse person, maybe it's time to pursue a different fandom? The way that losses affect some around here absolutely impact the level of regard I have for them. We're adults, we should be better than the kindergarteners on the playground who aren't getting their way. Maybe my expectations are too high, that seems to be a theme around here lately.

They are.  Personally, I have a hard time getting up or down too much one way or another any longer even if I wanted to.  Did I grow up or enter mild state of depression?  I'm not sure either.

Regardless, fans get pissed and throw fits, and this seems the perfect place to let off steam.  I mean, we've had some bad seasons, but to be sooo close to getting over the hump and continuing to blow it like we have - that's got to be maddening to a lot of fans, particularly our younger folks...  20 years ago I would probably be slamming my head against the wall in frustration too.

So yeah, I'm not too far from where you are, but you're coming across a bit preachy.  Better to blow off steam on a message board than in traffic, I always say.
