A little good news....Gil Brandt reported on Tulsa's Pro Day. 18 teams had scouts there, including two assistant coaches for the Bengals. Gil doesn't mention QB Cody Green, but had this to say...

There were eight Tulsa players working out, plus six others from smaller schools in the area.


Ja’Terian Douglas, RB (5-foot-9 1/2, 203 pounds) — Douglas ran the 40 in 4.68 seconds with the wind and 4.78 against the wind. He had a 30-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-6 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.38 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.21 seconds. He also had 16 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.


Julius (Trey) Watts III, RB (5-9 1/2, 195) — Watts ran the 40 in 4.75 seconds (with the wind) and 4.83 seconds (against the wind). He had a 26 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 9-2 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.37 seconds and the three-cone in 7.06 seconds. He performed eight strength lifts. He is the son of J.C. Watts, a former quarterback for coach Barry Switzer at the University of Oklahoma who went on to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003. Watts led the Golden Hurricane with 1,329 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns in 2013, and was a very good return specialist.


Douglas and Watts are potential third-day selections in the 2014 NFL Draft or priority free-agent pickups following the draft.

In front of representatives from 18 NFL teams, as well one from the Canadian Football League, the TU seniors were put through several tests of strength, speed and endurance before displaying their skills during a few practice drills.


NFL teams such as the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets, Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Rams were in attendance.


“I’m definitely tired, but I think I had a pretty good day,” said Watts, the Golden Hurricane running back who gained 1,329 yards rushing in his final season of college eligibility. “I caught the ball well, ran the ball well, and just had to come out here and try to do my best, and God will take care of the rest.”


Watts posted a 4.69 40-yard dash.

 

In addition to Jackson and Watts, other TU seniors taking part in the day’s activities were quarterback Cody Green, offensive tackle Stetson Burnett, running back Ja’Terian Douglas, receiver Jordan James, linebacker DeWitt Jennings, and receiver Bryan Burnham, who didn’t play in 2013 after missing the 2012 season with a knee injury.

 

I really hope the Jaguars can bring Watts and Cody Green into camp. Either by drafting them late, or as a UDFAs.
