Mike Caldwell & This Current Defence

Lloyd apparently is struggling in pass coverage. In particular, crossers. Looks like the film since the loss to Indy has exposed this and teams keep going to it.

So, there could be some merit with Muma getting playing time late over Lloyd two weeks in a row. Granted, Muma got lucky as [BLEEP] with Carr's underthrow in the endzone that hit Muma in his back.

It's a bit of both. Young players making mistakes, veterans not getting to the QB and losing containment late, coaches not figuring out how to stop the bleeding.

In otherwords. Painful growth. Yesterday was a tough loss. As most of their losses have been this year and always comes down to one or two missed opportunities that cost you the game.

I am honestly not sweating it too much. However, they have some holes to backfill next year. Moreso offensively than defensively IMHO. I think defensively they will look, feel and play more cohesively in 2023 but going into next off season with an entire TE room, a RT and a clutch WR hitting the market is WAY more concerning for me than it is with finding another interior and exterior pass rusher / disruptor.

As, I feel, defensively? They are built good enough to win this division and should be able to at least pull off a 5 - 1 or 4 - 2 divisional record next year. Already said this in another thread. But, this run defense better [BLEEP] dominate when they see Pierce again on the road and against Henry twice down the stretch.
