Walker not getting to the QB and finishing the play doesn't surprise me. For two reasons. One, he wasn't asked to do that at Georgia. He was predominately an edge setter and run defender. We all knew his pass rushing abilities were going to take some time to learn and harness.
All is forgiven there, as it was an early and honest expectation. I also see him getting routinely double teamed and getting trapped within the cluster of pass rushing efforts or on running plays.
With that said? There is ZERO excuses for Josh Allen in year four. ZERO. Also, the contract stuff, the salary stuff? None of that big money is coming his way. The NFL doesn't pay players based on "almost" getting there or being "around" the QB. They pay you for forcing turnovers, burying the QB into the ground and coming up clutch when the game is on the line.
Josh Allen, for what it's worth, yes, he's a good football player, but there's a lot of those already in the NFL. Nobody is going to open up their wallet or bust open their piggy bank for a good football player. I mean, this team does, because we suck. That's not always the case around the league though. We're actually in that exclusive club of suck.
It's not motivation that's setting Allen or Walker back. It's skill. Walker doesn't show any pass rushing moves, at all. Neither does Allen. Which is concerning, because it's year four and he's going into a major year five with this team next year. You watch though. This [BLEEP] team will draft Jalen Carter, bypass Quentin Johnston, and, you'll see Walker become a monster while Allen remains just a 'guy".
Essentially a wash again in 2023 in the pass rushing department. We need to get more explosive on offense. To force an offense to go into pass only mode. Then we'll maybe see Allen flourish like he did as a rookie. If I have to keep drafting other guys around you though to make you better, after I took you 7th overall four to five years ago?
You suck. Just throwing that out there. 7 sacks as a sophomore, 7 sacks as a junior, 17 sacks as a senior. All of that was on his stat sheet coming out of Kentucky. Anybody who thinks this front office drafted him to be what he is today is just delusional at best. He was drafted to replace Campbell and Ngakoue. He couldn't get it done. Done with the excuses with him.
I just watched a tacks front four [BLEEP] dominate KC and DEN in back to back weeks. Our guys just can't get it done. Maybe give Smoot a start and bench Allen's [BLEEP] [BLEEP] and we'll see if that motivates him enough.

Minus the tears. But, for [BLEEP] sake man. Yeah. It's frustrating as hell. Everybody is frustrated with Josh Allen. Locally, if you have access to radio via internet. Highly encourage you to listen into 92.5 FM here in Jacksonville.
