He was healthy coming into camp on a rookie contract. 

He should have been granted that camp to show his worth. They had literally zero after him on the depth chart except a guy with similar injury history who had already peaked at mediocre.

Fair point, I guess, but why take the chance that he's going to suddenly be healthy for a whole year? Or even 4 games of one? We haven't been any worse with Engram.
