Coaches don't care about details like that.  And good coaches would tell the front office to get bent if the front office tried to influence playing time for a player over a petty detail like that.

It was likely discussed before they even made the trade. They knew he was dealing with the knee injury when they made the trade.  If he was putting up over 100 yrds a game they would likely say F it let's just play him.  When all the back are averaging under 4 ypc. they likely agreed to get him healthy for the late season playoff push and only have to give up the 6th.  They lost 2 of their top 3 lineman and their oline is trash kinda like the Steelers.  If Najee Harris was on a different team I think he would be one of the best backs in the league.
