By the way, one of the really great things about that play was that we didn't spike the ball to stop the clock.  We lined up and ran a play without letting the Ravens' defense regroup.  That's a little added bit of brilliance.

And damn, if next year we get a downfield threat who can win 50-50 balls, guys will be open all over the field.

I see what you are saying in theory but I  disagree on that… watch that play again. maybe if the underneath route was in the middle of the field then the clock would run out.. but he ran a quick flat route right to the sideline and there was no flat defender. The corner was in man coverage with his back turned and the safety was in the Endzone… at the very worst he gets out of bounds  at the one or two yard line with time to still run another play but he probably scores as no one would have had vision to tackle him other than the safety who was massively out leveraged.

Quick uncovered throw to the sideline with a busted coverage due to the hurry up.

I looked at it again, and there is a safety on the goal line who could have come up and tackled the guy in the flat.  There's no reason to throw it there when you have a free play into the end zone with minimal risk.
