You have to make a statement to the entire defensive side of the ball, and that has to be firing the D Coordinator.   Pederson ain't going anywhere.   The Defense hasn't been able to get more than 2 sacks in a game for what....8 weeks?    The team TACKLES poorly.   WR are consistently wide open.

That's too many holes to fill, and a statement needs to be made.

No I get what your saying. The backups aren't any better and they've got worse if anything as the seasons gone on. I don't think sadly letting Caldwell go would do much to make this D play better. Allen and Walker have done nothing for weeks and cant win their matchups, the DB's cant cover in man or zone and we have busted coverages all the time. The players need to step it up.

But it's been proven that they can't.

Baalke isn't going anywhere.
Pederson isn't going anywhere.
The offense, though young, and lacking a #1 receiver can score against good defenses.


The worst part of this team is the defense...and something needs to be done while we still have a shot at the division title.

I'll ask you this.   Do you think the defense can get worse if they fire Caldwell?

If the answer is no...MAKE THE STATEMENT.
