That is all true in hindsight, and he definitely needs to make an adjustment at DC.

Doug knows offense as well as anyone and still hired guys with crap-tons of offensive experience to help him on that side of the ball.  I was really surprised he went with a first-time DC when he initially made the hire, and even more surprised now when it seems painfully obvious that Doug doesn't appear to know how to help his struggling DC.
