Sounds like Tony is completely ignoring that the coach can be at all to blame for any of the defense's shortcomings in his assessment. Option 1 is the players are lazy or dumb, and option 2 is the players are dumb and overwhelmed.

You would think that if the scheme were complex, we'd have started slow, and gradually developed as the light bulbs went off one-by-one across the roster.
