That really doesn't seem complacent to me at all. 

The GM just  missed on several acquisitions and the DC may or may not turn out to be in over his head. 
I reckon Pederson can figure out that part if Baalke can find players to fit the spots lacking talent. 

Not gonna happen this year though.
