We are 6-8. This is a fairly evenly matched game. I think we are MUCH better than our record indicates. I think Pederson is a good coach and Trevor is ascending. I also know our defense can struggle at times and keep poor offenses in the game (Texans, anyone?). I also know that Trevor played terribly in our game with poor weather, and we are a young team that makes mistakes. Do we have the tools? Yup. Will things go our way? No clue. I certainly hope so. I was 91% joking when I said he jinxed it. I don't believe in superstition, but since we're having a debate about it, I just think confident is the wrong word. I absolutely think players need to be confident in their ability. I think they need to believe they can win. I just don't think that's necessarily true for fans and is probably the wrong take, especially against competitive teams in the NFL. It also makes loses harder to swallow, which is clearly a problem around here. Maybe I'm just being a stickler for the meaning of words, but I think it's okay for us to be optimistic without saying we're confident. That's all I say on this subject. Be confident if you want to. I hope we win. |
