It is looking more and more like a franchise tag for 2023 is the way forward. 

Should be in the 12-13 mil range.  Untagged - there are probably 4 or 5 teams with lots of cap space that need a TE. One  of those would probably outbid us. 
He'd REALLY need to want to stay a Jag to turn that money down. Wouldn't bet on it. 

I think if they convince he and his agent to be cool with a tag and the promise of a 2024 deal commensurate with his 2022/2023 performance - that's the best outcome. 

They may need to front load that 2024 contract a bit to keep his money from dragging too far into other young talent renewals.
