I was alive for it, I watched parts on TV and heard other parts on the radio.  I was in high school for it and it was the only topic of discussion both the week before and the week after.  
But the simple fact is the 1999 team just wasn't very good.  They lucked out with their schedule.  The 2007 and 2017 Jags teams were both more talented and more physically dominating than the 1999 squad.  I don't think the 1999 defense would have slowed down the Rams.  It would have been a shootout and the Rams had more weapons that year.  The Titans actually slowed the Rams down and made that Super Bowl a competitive game.
So if we're ranking disappointments, the losses in 2006, 2007, and 2017 rank higher, for me.

The 1999 team wasn't very good? The team that retired Marino and Johnson in one fell swoop 62-7? The team wasn't good against the Tacks because they didn't matchup well (and the tacks were pretty good that year as well 13-3), but to say that the team with the best record in the AFC wasn't good might be the worst take you've ever had in these forums. And that's saying something.
