We do know that Meyer wanted Kadarius Toney in the first round. The guy has been unavailable for most of his two seasons and would have been another 1st round Jaguars' bust. I'll give Baalke and the scouting staff credit for the others.

I’m not trying to defend Meyer in this reply, but all we know is he wanted him, not why.  The why could have been because the scouting department and/or Baalke built him up in their discussions and he was taking their word for it or it could be because he had personally done some evaluation and fell in love with him on his own.  Doubt we’ll ever know, but most of what we do know points to Baalke having a clue and Meyer not.
