I think, for the most part, people understand this. However, it's not unlike the Thin Blue Line, right? If there are bad cops, but they "protect their own," then how are you supposed to weed out the bad cops? They don't even have to defend the bad cops personally, as long as they are shutting down others who are being critical of the bad cops or system that defends the profession, they are effectively maintaining the status quo. The same is true in any other profession. This becomes even more dangerous if the problem is top down, which I believe is the case with teaching. Obviously, this is not true across the board, but it doesn't take much to tilt the playing field. Activism perpetuates itself. And if you get leaders or teachers that are spreading this activism, then you have instituted a cycle of activism that will keep growing. Everyone here can agree that if you allowed religion to be taught at school (not as an idea, but as a goal), the population would soon begin to reflect that which they are being taught. This is no different than what progressives are PURPOSEFULLY trying to institute in our education system. It's called critical pedagogy. It's taught in some universities. It requires praxis, which is essentially activism for the purpose of conversion. It happens to contain many progressive ideas, and some among them are sexualization of children and critical theory. These are not just ideas to be debated, but lifestyle goals, which means they are taught as absolutes. This is dangerous. You have many good teachers, but you have progressive school boards and professors that are introducing activism into the system, and it will continue to get worse unless we put our foots down and collectively uproot the source of that activism. I agree with everything Cleatwood said. We shouldn't denigrate every teacher. However, we also need allies in the teaching profession that agree with the principle that PRAXIS is a form of evil in our education system. We should be raising critical, independent thinkers who are open to new ideas. That is COMPLETELY different than indoctrination into a certain set of beliefs.
