Hence my ‘on a consistent basis’ remark.   

I’m not sure if he’s ever put together a full season that would make me say ‘he’s the guy’.  He started out this season looking fantastic, and ends the season on the bench.

When the Jags signed Zay Jones last year, I went and found cut ups on YouTube of every single pass thrown to him by Derek Carr. 

There were LOTS of really ugly misses. Some were under duress, some were tough throws his coordinator probably should have known better about,  but many were so bad I had a bout of Bortles era PTSD and sought medication to soothe my nerves.

It's those throws that would make me think twice about paying him big, though someone is almost certain to do it anyway.
