I wasn't a hardcore football fan for most of Jimmy Smiths time here, but man even the bit I did see he was something special for sure. He definitely deserves to be in the HOF, and so does Fred.

I agree. Jimmy Smith deserves to be in the hall.

A couple of other notes:

During the Dallas years, Smith was backing up Alvin Harper. Harper retired after the 1999 season with 191 career receptions, 3473 yards, and 21 TD.

Harper never had more than 46 catches in a season, and never surpassed more than 821 yards in a season.

Tom Coughlin brought Jimmy Smith in as the WR5 in 1995.
