I watched part of a video yesterday of a young lady interviewing a female in her 20s who fully transitioned to a male other than the man sausage and then detransitioned. I didn't get to watch the whole interview but what I heard was interesting. 

The main points I remember:
She came from a perfectly normal home with two parents who are still married and raised her well; she has no trauma in her background; she didn't feel comfortable in her body as a kid; she was a tomboy and preferred wearing boys/mens clothes; she self identified as a lesbian in her early teen years because she wasn't yet attracted to boys so she thought she was gay. I think she said she wasn't attracted to girls either but peer pressure makes you feel like you have to choose. 

The things I automatically took away from this was no girl feels comfortable in their bodies. Hell it takes a good while for us to feel 'normal'. A lot of women will tell you they didn't feel comfortable and have confidence until they were in their 40s. Then there's the puberty issue, raging hormones and getting the period. Talk about feeling confused and uncomfortable! 

Not everyone is attracted to anyone by a certain age. Everyone is different. I've found both men and women attractive but for totally different reasons. Just because you're a chick who thinks another chick is hawt it doesn't make you gay and it doesn't mean you want to sleep with her. It just means you find that particular one really attractive. There were hawt chicks in high school and there have been since then and I can tell you this, I am not a lesbian. 

Traumatic events like sexual molestation by someone of the same sex can make you think you're gay. I know someone whose mother sexually molested him and let other men molest him as well. He was confused for a long time. He thought men molesting him made him gay because otherwise why would they be attracted to him. He was a kid and going into his teens when he was trying to figure this out so the 'logic' doesn't make sense to most folks but it did to him. He is now happily married to a woman and has a daughter of his own.  

We live in a day and age when kids are being sexualized at earlier ages than even just 20 years ago. Britney Spears was just 16 when she make the video for her song, Oops, I Did it Again. Talk about sexualized! Her and Christina Aguilera both were. Now it girls not even hitting puberty before they're hot with this crap. That will confuse a young girl and make her feel extremely uncomfortable. 

And guess who explains it all away as a gender issue when nine times out of ten it's absolutely not? It's normal growing pains or girls (and boys) being put into situations they don't understand but you won't hear anyone say that. 

If I can find it I'll post the video here. It was also enlightening to read the comments section. A lot of women outraged they have to beg to have a hysterectomy due to legit medical issues, a breast reduction due to chronic back and shoulder pain, or breast reconstruction after having a mastectomy, but you tell a doctor it's so you can transition and they can't wait to help you feel better.
