Now, both are gone. It’s interesting A-B isn’t being more public about the decision to move off them. It would signal to consumers it’s taking the crisis seriously.

The way they are behaving makes me wonder how many of these decisions are being made by the European HQ, which may not have a full understanding of what their market over here really is.

That’s a likely take. Even so, one would expect them to be more mindful of the bottom line. It’s a classic case of being penny wise and pound foolish. 
Announce their firings and deal with the potential lawsuit which may cost them a few tens of millions of dollars. That is far preferable to the billions they are losing now, not to mention the damage to their brand which is having a huge effect on future earnings.
