I believe Sunday is the deadline for Engram to sign a long term deal. After that he plays on the tag. So decision time for the lad. take what the Jags have on the table for long term security or play on the tag and risk it yet another year.

If he takes the deal on the table it is rumored to be about 12+ mill x 4 years with 20 or so guaranteed. I am thinking he wants one in the 14-16 range, but the Jags seem to be topped out where they are. Ball is in his court now. (for reference Kelce's average is 14.3 mill/year. As much of a hometown guy I am he isn't a Kelce....

IF he plays under the tag, the 11 mill tag is not bad, more than he has made the whole time he has been in the league. It is guaranteed so injury this season is not an issue, but would impact future years.

If it were mine to do I would sign the contract about an hour before the deadline. Just in the unlikely case the Jags get nervous and sweeten the deal.

Consider:
He is playing for a coach and in a TE friendly system. This system has made average TE's look real good.
He is being thrown to by a really good QB that is on the rise.
He may never in his career be on a team in a situation like this. He is one of their guys...
He is coming off a career year with a lot of publicity. The addition of Riddley (if he returns to form) will/could change that.
We drafted Brenton Strange Round 2, Pick #61. Due to this draft position he WILL see the field and some looks. A successful season by the rookie would lower his value to the Jags.
