Simply put, the league is a performance-based organization. Play well, or risk getting cut. Sign good players, or risk getting fireded. Coach the players well, or risk getting canned. If Doug or Trent keep a less talented TE just because he shares chromosomes with the coach, then they are putting their necks on the line. Has that happened yet? Are you that upset that we cut Leonard Taylor to make room for this kid?

I still haven't heard from the other one who was so off-put by this move what other TE merited signing to replace our injured player, do you have suggestions that would have been less of a distraction to our beloved Jags?

How much will it take to sign and how much does Houston have left in the tank?  Yea, he had 9.5 sacks last year. Problem is if you look at his game by game 8 of them came week 11 and before. He appeared to almost disappear the back half of the season.  He got 6.5 of them against the Saints, Tampa Bay and Cleveland.  I would rather look elsewhere, something is up there...
