Also consider that the market numbers for starting Tight Ends this offseason was much lower than anticipated. I think the top contract this year was 3 @ $7.4 per year. Going out there wanting or getting more than 12 per is really not likely next year either. He should take the deal on the table, it's likely more than he's going to be offered again in the future.
