His vet minimum would be 1.16 million

The difference between those numbers is roughly 1.44 million dollars.
So that 1.4 mil figure is what you claim to have an issue with.

That figure is 0.62% of the Jaguars salary cap that currently has about 21 million open to spend should they choose.
Are you beginning to get any semblance of an idea why everyone told you crying over that guarantee was silly?

If 2.6 guaranteed is telling you "intended starter" then you should go see someone about the voices in your head, because you apparently cannot trust them.
I think 95% of Jags fans are praying he's not the starter week one and about 80% of the entire football universe was predicting the Jags would draft a nickel-ready DB prior to the fifth round AFTER that minuscule signing and guaranteed money.

Your off-base assertions that Herndon cost us games (especially with "deep" balls) is a whole other story.
I won't bore everyone rehashing that one in its entirety, but the short answer is that the KC loss is the only one he was picked on and completed "deep" against that we did not win.   Might have said the same for the Dallas game, but we won that one in the end despite Herndon vs Lamb.

He's a liability in coverage but plays well in the box as a run defender.
I'm crossing all my fingers and toes we end up with a better cover guy manning the slot this year, but his guarantee was minuscule, and the number of games he cost us last season = "he contributed to the reg season loss vs KC"  That's it.

That's the whole story on Herndon.

Hope this gives you a clearer perspective.

I'd put that (bolded part) on Caldwell. He should have moved Darius Williams to the slot to cover Lamb in the slot, or had Campbell trail Lamb the whole game. Lamb was head and shoulders the Cowgirls' best receiver. Caldwell's insistence on keeping his chess pieces in the same spots at all times is reminiscent of Todd Wash. I hate it.
