It's actually perfectly acceptable--hell, some might even say normal--to think that racism exists and is wrong and that child trafficking is also wrong.  Nobody disagrees about the latter, but plenty of folks run around saying they "don't see color" or that "racism is only an issue because people keep making it an issue."

By the way, it isn't liberal and democratic politicians who are trying to abolish minimum marriage ages and force underage girls to carry to term when raped by grown men.  Just saying.

When folks don't have a leg to stand on in a debate they often deflect.

Such is the nature of the recent focus on sex trafficking and related crimes from the right. 

"My side cares more about this particular horrible thing than your side does!" has got to be the weakest [BLEEP] flex ever.

I agree.  Most Republicans are keeping child abuse in the proper context.  Most Republicans understand that it is always punished whenever it is known about. Unfortunately it often is not known about until years later.  The people who loudly insist that elite people are committing this terrible act and going unpunished, they're not just filling the Republican vs Democrat arena up with nonsense, they're also filling the Republican vs Republican debate up with nonsense.

Most people want to be a hero, or at least want to be one of the ones who supports the heroes of their time.  If there is no crisis demanding a hero, or if you would rather ignore the crisis that does exist, you make up a crisis so you can paint yourself as the hero of it.  Lies like this become very attractive.
