It was this play calling that ended up putting 31 points on the board, no?

Lots of the runs called in this game were averaging 5-6 yards last year. Not the case today.

You can point out a small handful of sketchy calls, I didn't like some of them, but overall it was fine.

For me, there were so many run/run/pass sequences that I don't remember seeing last year - it was like I was flashing back to the Mularkey era.  This was a different looking play calling scheme from what we saw last year.  I don't think you can argue about that.

On top of that, I didn't see any of the schemes we ran last year.  Our bread and butter plays had a opposite receivers starting wide while crossing the middle, while a TE or slot receiver would stretch out long.  There was not even one play like that today.  Why?  We were dynamic we were unpredictable, we were explosive, consistently.

This wasn't the same play calling or the same schematic offense we saw last year.  Trevor exploded on 2 plays today.  One to Zay in the end zone and the other the Engram when he lined up as the #1 WR.  2 really good play calls and 1 really good play scheme.  The rest of the game felt much more conservative.  Which is weird considering how many 4th down plays we ran...

We got the win, and that's what matters.  But this offense looked different today, if you objectively look at the game.  It's just what it was.  A decent game, where we hade the better overall talent at QB, WR, Edge Rusher, and Secondary.  But the play calling on both sides of the ball was tentative, or precautionary and that's why the game was close in the 3rd and start of the 4th.

Our talent, especially at QB shined and we ran away with the game.  But I just worry that if Press Taylor is going to call a game like he did here, we're not going to beat the really tough teams we face.

run/run/pass doesn't mean a single [BLEEP] thing

I am 100% fine with a [BLEEP] ton of run/run/pass

Our playbook has a lot of great run plays and many of them come out of the same formations we pass effectively from
This offense doesn't telegraph the run plays like regimes of the past - just forget that you think you should be upset about run/run/pass - it doesn't matter anymore.

The run plays just have to be blocked more effectively than they were today.

Every time this line had a good day of run blocking last year, it was all sunshine and rainbows around here about ETN's brilliance and Pederson's genius.

When they don't block well - we get "WhY aRe TheY RuNNinG SO mUcH??"

It was largely the same stuff we saw last year. It just wasn't executed and it started in the trenches.
