It wasn’t the scrum that I have a problem with.  Bigsby got hit in the backfield and lost all momentum.  Strange immediately grabbed him and started pushing/pulling him toward the goal line. Then the scrum formed around them and all bets are off at that point.  It’s really the split second where the ball carrier is stopped and a teammate grabs him and starts pulling him forward that seems like a rule is being broken or a rule is missing.

Cooper Hodges did something similar on the Rourke TD pass where he had a defender draped on him and he threw the TD. If you go back and watch it, Hodges was pulling the defender in the opposite direction as if he was blocking, which gave Rourke an extra millisecond to get the pass off. 

The Strange pull play will never be illegal because there are no rules that says he can’t go pull his own player in the opposite direction. 

Also on defense at the end of games, I’ve seen guys tackle there own players in order to seal the game instead of letting them run around and get hit and fumble the football away to the other team.
