I generally apply the Sam Adams response to him, so I'm in pretty good company. Also I don't really give two [BLEEP] about Mike or his rambling thought traps, so sometimes I say stuff just to make his little pea brain explode. I don't really believe that states, counties, or cities should be put in the position to want to secede, but I do think the mechanism should be in place to consider and achieve it. We did that here in NE Florida for a while with the proposed Ocean County that would put Atlantic, Neptune, Jax, and Ponte Vedra beaches into their own county. It didn't happen but that doesn't meant that Duval and SJC would've been right to start a war to prevent it. The States created the federal government and no one has the right to say that the States are inseverable; the very idea that a group of people are forever bound to the lines and relationships drawn by people hundreds of years ago should be anathema to us all. And I've never lost an argument to Mikesez, it's impossible to lose an argument with someone who doesn't have an actual position on damn near anything.

We agree that the governor of NM should not have done this temporary ban on carrying guns.
We just disagree about why.  You say that it is never ever right for any person in government to stretch their duties and powers in any emergency.  I say it sometimes is, just not now.  I have not fleshed out when "sometimes" might be in the future.  So my argument is admittedly incomplete.   But in your effort to make your argument complete, you have reached into the past and pushed it into the ridiculous and absurd.  My argument is incomplete and plausible.  Yours is complete and absurd.
