I'm talking about Romo, Aikman, Strahan, Bruschi, Long, Bradshaw, Collinsworth, Esiason, etc. These guys understand the game at a level most of us can't even imagine. Perhaps I simply missed the broadcast, but I don't recall any putting that label on him yet. I think we've had Romo and Nantz once or twice since Lawrence has been in Jacksonville. More than likely for the Kansas City game. As far as Sneakers comment regarding the term "elite" being thrown around, most of these guys are pretty crafty. They won't say "Oh, he's an elite player, etc" they'll just look for a big play, pinpoint it and say "See, that play right there? That's an elite level play". Romo would have been freaking out if he had seen that whip of a throw Lawrence made in between two defenders in the opening week to Ridley. Same for that throw to Zay Jones in the endzone. We'll eventually get some good crews for our games. I can tell you that I am honestly not looking forward to our TNF game with Michales and SNF game with Collinsworth. I just find both of them washed up now and boring. Not sure who we'll get for MNF against the Bengals. "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing; Rush in and die, dogs - I was a man before I was a king." |
